Butterboy PH Croissants Honest Review

J’adore croissants! When I used to live in France, I rarely ate croissants, instead craving for the pandesal I used to eat back when I was living in the Philippines. Now that I’m back in Manila, I scratch my head and wonder WHY I MISSED ALL THOSE GOLDEN OPPORTUNITIES TO EAT CROISSANTS? Sadly, beautiful, buttery croissants are in short supply here in the metro – until I discovered Butterboy PH. My friend was actually the one who discovered them, loved them so much, and decided to share the joy with me. One word: Delicious!

Let’s dive in shall we?

Which croissants would you recommend?

As of today, I’ve only tried their Pain Au Chocolat and the Truffle Fondue Basket, although I hope to change that soon

The Truffle Fondue Basket (current fave) is the one with the truffle oil heart-shaped pipette sticking out of it

Pain Au Chocolat

Ah, what a classic! It’s hard to go wrong here – the croissant wasn’t as crispy as hoped (my bad! I microwaved instead of toasting it – see the reheat procedures in one of the following sections), but the buttery taste was overwhelmingly good and I loved how generous the chocolate filling was

Truffle Fondue Basket

My gosh! This was SO GOOD. I didn’t know what the pipette was at first, and thought it might be olive oil based on its color. Thought it was a bit gimmicky but I gamely squeezed it then bit into it. Wow, just WOW. No words. The croissant had a lot of puff, was extremely buttery, and the truffle-infused melted cheese fondue was just sinful!

How to order croissants from Butterboy PH?

Simply go to their website and choose which croissants you wish to order. They have a schedule for delivery but you can also opt to pick it up yourself. They’re located at 1448 Prudencio Street, Manila

How to reheat your croissants so you get the best possible croissant?

Don’t be stupid like me – read the instructions on how to reheat! (Yes, I microwaved LOL). When really, I should’ve placed it in a toaster for 3-4 minutes instead so that the outer layer will become crispy again.

Sigh, I wish there was a local bakery right across my home that sold daily baked croissants. Of course, if there was, I would get ridiculously fat and end up with high cholesterol, so perhaps it’s a good thing there’s none!
