I super love french fries, but you know what’s better than fries? Super crispy baked potato wedges that are crispy on the outside, and smooth on the inside. Not only are they incredibly delicious, but they’re also SUPER easy to make. That’s why they’re my go-to side dish whenever I have a complicated main dish to whip up.

Without further ado, let’s get started

DELECTABLE SIDE DISH FOR THE DAY: BAKED POTATO WEDGES

DIFFICULTY: Super easy

SERVING SIZE: Good for 5 PEOPLE (side dish only)

PREPARATION TIME: 50 minutes (although 45 of those minutes are spent baking)

Ingredients to prepare

  • 4 potatoes (each potato is equivalent to 8 potato wedge slice)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • Parchment paper

Step-by-Step instructions to make Baked Potato Wedges

Step 1: Prep the oven to 200 deg C

Step 2: Cut the Potatoes into wedges

  • Scrub the potato vigorously so that it’s squeaky clean. Since you’ll be keeping the skin on, you want to make sure none of those dirt and icky stuff remains. If you find any deformities on the potato, just carve those areas out and throw away

  • Halve each potato
  • Then, halve EACH HALF again, so you’ll have 8 pieces in total per potato

Cut each half into 4 slices evenly

Pro-tip: Make sure each wedge is kind of equally sized so they cook evenly! Don’t slice them too thin, otherwise nothing but air will be left after you bake the wedges

Step 3: Prepare the flavoring

  • In a bowl, toss in the potato wedges and 1 tbsp cornstarch. This will make the potato wedge extra crispy on the outside!
  • Afterwards, add in the 1 1/2 tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, and 1/2 tsp paprika into the bowl and make sure the spices cover all the potatoes evenly. I use my hands to mix them here just to make sure every single wedge is well-coated
