Cecilia’s Buco Pie (Tagaytay) Honest Review
January 11, 2021
In the many years we’ve been to Tagaytay, multiple “famous” buko pie stores have come and gone – Rowena’s and Colette’s, come to mind. Unfortunately, I’ve found that most buko pie brands start out really well – with huge chunks of buko and tart consistency to lure customers in. However, once they start expanding – quality slips and I’m off searching for a new buko pie favorite. Well, I’m happy to say I’ve found a new winner – Cecilia’s Buco Pie!
Verdict: Cecilia’s Buco Pie is a winner
Is Cecilia’s Buco Pie any good?
Yes, it is! I tried it for the first time when it was baked fresh from the oven. In fact, I saw it being made FROM SCRATCH – because the whole process occurs behind a clear window. It was pretty cool seeing the process from end-to-end, plus I saw just how much buko they were putting in, which always makes me happy (hello value for money!)
I find that Cecilia’s Buco Pie has huge chunks of buko within each slice, that are extremely tender and mildly sweet. The crust consistency is also excellent without being too crumbly or too hard. Overall, I’m super happy with this find
What else can you buy from Cecilia’s Buco Pie?
The main branch of Cecilia’s Buco Pie is actually a pasalubong store, so you can find a whole variety of local goodies to choose from. They offer up delicacies from Cavite, Laguna, Batangas; as well as goodies from father away – such as Bulacan, Pampanga and Dumaguete.
Aside from the MUST-TRY buko pies, we never miss out on purchasing the sweet, buttery goodness of Sans Rival and Silvanas from Sans Rival Cakes and Pastries.
Where is Cecilia’s Buco Pie located?
They’re located near Balay Dako (around a 5 mins walk), which is how I found them originally. Today, they’ve expanded and you can purchase from the following branches
