Beefy Cheesy Nachos DIY Recipe (w/ step-by-step instructions)

Nachos are so quintessential for snacks. They’re so delicious and I feel like they must be ridiculously easy to make. So I decided to try making my own. Here’s my take on it! Overall, pretty happy with how this turned out, but I’ll probably buy Doritos corn chips next time.

DELECTABLE DISH FOR THE DAY: BEEFY CHEESY NACHOS

DIFFICULTY: Easy

SERVING SIZE: Good for 10 people

COOKING TIME: 50 minutes

INGREDIENTS FOR BEEFY CHEESY NACHOS

Toppings

  • 500g ground beef
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped

Nachos seasoning

  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste/sauce
  • 1 tbsp water

Nachos

  • 400g corn chips (preferably Doritos)
  • Cheese dipping sauce

STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS TO MAKE BEEFY CHEESY NACHOS

  • Cook the onion and tomato until translucent

  • Afterwards, add the ground beef and cook – breaking it up as you go

  • In the meantime, mix 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp salt, 2 tsp cumin, 2 tsp paprika, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper, 2 tbsp tomato sauce, 1 tbsp water to create the Nachos seasoning

  • Once the beef is cooked, pour in the Nachos seasoning and cook for a further 2 minutes

  • Pre-heat the oven to 180 deg C
  • Spread the corn chips in a single layer on the baking tray. Drizzle the cheese dipping sauce over the corn chips, then top with the nacho toppings. Make sure the cheese is covered. Repeat the process for the next later

  • Pop into the oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted
  • Bon Appetit!
