Toque’s Turf Hanger Steak, Spaghetti with Meatballs Honest Review

Back to blogging after a 2-week hiatus. Gaaah I feel so lazy – down to my very bones. I actually read my old blogs and realized there’s a huge disparity in quality. In the past, I actually took the time to outline my articles and do additional research etc. But now, the goal is to just get the article out there. I figured, it’s better to consistently churn out material vs waiting to write that perfect article until I feel overwhelmed by the blog articles backlog…

Okay, moving on. For today, I will be writing about Toque’s Turf‘s Double Pounder and Spaghetti with Meatballs. These were both gifted to my sister for her birthday (thank you to her very generous friends, which allows me to try these food outfits which I would never buy from normally hehehe)

Hanger Steak Double Pound

This dish comes with hanger steak, freshly grilled tomatoes, classic gravy, chimichurri sauce, sautéed french beans with bacon bits, and buttered marble potatoes.

Let me just say – it looks beautiful. A true work of art. Taste-wise leaves a bit to be desired though. I thought the marble potatoes were rather bland. The steak, on the other hand, was very flavorful (it’s said to be infused with herbs and spices), has a beautiful pink center, but was unfortunately very chewy (and not in a good way). Interestingly, this tasted a lot better a few days later after it was reheated though!

Serving size-wise: it’s VERY generous. We had difficulty finishing this in one sitting, and we’re a ravenous family of five!

Verdict: Would not reorder

Spaghetti with Meatballs

This is literally spaghetti with meatballs. Sounds simple right? But it’s very good. Incredibly flavorful, loving the rich tomato flavor, the cheesiness, and the big meatballs that were packed tight – just the way I like them!
