Wildflour Celebration Ham Box Honest Review
December 15, 2021
Christmas is such a wonderful time of year. First and foremost, because of the birth of Jesus Christ, and the redemption of mankind that was made possible because of this birth. Second, because of the holidays and expected break time from work (which I very much look forward to). And third, because of all the good food that arrives at our house during this time of the year!
One such delight was this Wildflour Celebration Ham Box. Last New Year, I had ordered from Wildflour and was left distinctly unimpressed. I like their food, but getting it for takeaway via Wildflour to Go made me realize how much of the “Wildflour” experience was really enhanced by their ambiance, and the food on its own really does not justify the price premium charged. Anyway, long-winded explanation aside, I was quite pleased to receive this Celebration Ham Box because these are the type of food items I would never conceivably order on my own, but am super appreciative of when gifted!
So what exactly was in this box:
- Celebration Ham
- Parker House Rolls
- Pineapple Glaze/Jam
Before eating, they highly recommend you do the following first:
- Unwrap the ham from the plastic and transfer to an oven safe dish
- Pre-heat oven to 325 deg F
- Brush the Pineapple Glaze on the outside of the ham and reserve the other half for later
- Bake for 20-30 minutes or until the glaze is sticky and the ham is warm all the way through
- Transfer the ham onto a serving platter and serve with the leftover pineapple glaze and warm parker house rolls on the side
One word describes this meal – delicious! The ham was the right ratio of meat and fat. Every bite was flavorful – I really liked the pineapple glaze. And the parker house rolls had a lovely texture and very buttery flavor. Also, serving size was generous! We ate this for 1.5 meals (family of 5 here). Overall, a satisfying meal
