Quisine PH Cereal Shrimps with Salted Egg Aburi and Truffle Steak Aburi Honest Review

Quisine’s premium sushi bakes always pop up on my Facebook and Instagram feeds – combination of ads, but also referrals – especially from The Tummy Train, who always waxes rhapsodic about their latest sushi bake offering.

That’s why, when I saw they were offering a Christmas 12% off promo, I decided it was a sign from God and I should definitely order NOW.

 

VERDICT: My FAVORITE Sushi Bake in the Metro as of December 2020

What I ordered (Essentially got 1 Regular-sized for each Aburi, which was sufficient for my family of 5)

 

Cereal Shrimps with Salted Egg Aburi

Content: Cereals, Tobiko, Curry leaves, Shrimps, Native Salted Egg, Premium Kani, Quisine Special Sauce, Japanese Rice

Price: PHP 1100 (Regular), PHP 1680 (Sharing)

Reheating instructions: Bake in oven at 150C/300F for ~15 minutes

Super delicious Cereal Shrimp Salted Egg Aburi

OMG. This was divine. Let’s discuss the sushi bake basics first – the foundation was loaded with kani and the Quisine Special Sauce is special indeed.

On top of that, I LOVED the big chunks of shrimps atop the sushi bake. The salted egg flavor was crisp and not cloying, a definite plus in my books. The cereal added a crunch to your bite, which was a nice plus.

Overall, I thought this was an interesting dish that’s definitely innovative and a step above the rest of the offering found in the metro.

Truffle Steak Aburi

Content: Truffle Oil, Spring Onion, Homemade Potato Chips, USDA Steak, Quisine Special Sauce, Shiitake Mushroom, Sweet Potato, Premium Kani, Japanese Rice

Price: PHP 1480 (Regular), PHP 2280 (Sharing)

Reheating instructions: Bake in oven at 150C/300F for ~10-20 minutes (shorter if you like your steak rare, longer if you like it well-done)

SUCH A BEAUTIFUL DISH

The smell is to die for. They definitely didn’t skimp on the truffle oil. I could hear my stomach growling the whole time while waiting for the Truffle Steak Aburi to finish heating up in the oven

The Quisine Special Sauce was still a hit here – love it. Definitely something special. Tbh though, I found the steak just ok (maybe because they were too bite-sized LOL, I barely taste it then it’s gone). I liked the shrimp better because you can bite down on it easier, whereas you have to eat the steak whole. Lastly, I found the homemade potato chips ended up rather soggy after baking in the oven, so would skip that as well.

Yum!

Still innovative, and definitely paints a pretty photo – but the winner for me would be the Cereal Shrimps with Salted Aburi!

While pricey, I find that it was well worth the price paid. That’s saying a lot from a self-confessed grepa like me! YUM YUM, highly recommend!
