The Husband’s Craving Buko Pie Honest Review

My friend gifted me The Husband’s Craving Buko Pie, which is apparently ALL THE CRAZE all the way from Tarlac. Thank you Lord for good friends who routinely introduce me to yummy food (and gift me yummy food hehe).

Let me just say – this buko pie is VERY VERY good. It’s not the traditional buko pie you might be accustomed to from Tagaytay/Laguna, because it’s A LOT creamier, and the buko pie structure is a bit different. But trust me, it’s good.

Allow me to introduce you to all the aspects of this pie that makes it oh-so-droolworthy:

• Beautiful packaging: Wow, just look at that. Definitely great for gifting – it screams premium and loving care. I would LOVE for all my food purchases to come in this pretty a packaging (but if it’ll cost me more, I’m okay with ugly packaging – just make sure the food gets to me safe and secure LOL #Priorities)
• Very generous layers of young coconut slices: Like WOW, so generous. It’s akin to my other buko pie favorite – Cecilia’s. This, for me, is the most important part of a buko pie. I want every bite to be filled with buko – why do you think I’m buying buko pie?!?! Layers upon layers of sweet tender young coconut = sheer heaven

• Sweet, condensed milk-like cream filling in between the buko slices: This was the honest gamechanger for me. I couldn’t pinpoint what exactly was I tasting – is this cheese? Is this condensed milk? I have no idea what it is, but it really elevates the flavor! I love it.
• Delicate crust: I dislike crust-heavy pie, but this one was soft and easy to slice. And yet, it holds the buko pie structure together incredibly well. I was pretty amazed
• Finally – the crumble topping: This one was less important for me, but it does add a slight crunch to the buko pie. I’m happy it’s there, probably also happy if it’s not.

Overall – I am SUPER incredibly happy to have discovered this buko pie. Adding it to my faves list.
