Txanton Makati Philippines Honest Review

Txanton has been in Manila for awhile, and is known to have some of the best wines and hams in the country. As I am a connoisseur of neither, it’s not surprising I’ve never heard of it LOL. Thankfully, I’m friends with one, and that’s how I found myself at Txanton one sunny Sunday afternoon.

Entering the store is pleasant. It isn’t a restaurant per se. Instead, entering Txanton felt like entering a museum that celebrates and offers up an ode to jamon and wine. The interiors are quietly elegant, and the Tasting Room, which can only seat up to 12 people, provided a more relaxed and intimate setting where friends can enjoy sharing wine, jamon, and an assortment of Spanish dishes on offer.

Look at the beautiful jamon

We started off with a bottle of red wine, and of course – jamon. While I’m certainly no expert, I really liked the Ibérico Bellota Jabugo as it melts in your mouth, and produces a rich, complex flavor while it’s at it. Supposedly, it’s because these black pigs consume large amounts of acorns as they roam free on hilly farms, which produces this remarkable flavor! The wine complements the ham nicely as well.

On top of this, we also tried their Gambas Al Ajillo (garlic shrimp) and Chorizo Picante A La Brasa (spicy chorizo), which were both incredibly good!

I’ll stop talking now. Go over there and feast for real when you go there and try it out for yourself <3
