The Original Buko Pie Laguna Honest Review

I like to think of myself as a buko pie connoisseur, just because I have tasted sooo many buko pies. Seriously. Every time my family sees a new buko pie place pop up, we always purchase and critique the pie. Well, The Original Buko Pie has obviously been around for a long time. We used to patronize it too, until its quality went downhill once it was franchised a lot.

The other day, we were gifted with this buko pie though. So with some trepidation, but also excitement, because who says no to buko pie – we opened it up and dug in!

Well, it was underwhelming. There were buko bits – not even slices, just little bits. Instead, the majority of the filling was really just custard. They should’ve renamed it custard pie with little buko bits instead….

Okay, so my current buko pie favorites are Cecilia’s and The Husband’s Craving (new discovery!!!). Honestly, the problem is when they start franchising, quality really goes down the drain. 🙁 Cecilia’s is starting to franchise now too huhu, hopefully it can maintain its quality levels!
