Nicci PH’s Shroomy Pizza and Margherita Pizza Honest Review

Honestly, I first heard of Nicci from my friend, who raved about their dough. He kept exclaiming and marveling over this brick oven pizza which he said was more flavorful and chewier compared to other pizzas in the metro, because of the higher water content of its dough.

Well, I’m no expert but I was intrigued by his description. Not intrigued enough to order given its location (Marikina), but intrigued enough to follow their IG page and jump at the chance to join their promotion when they had it.

Surprisingly, I ended up winning (miracle!!). I won a Shroomy pizza, and my friend also sent across a Margherita pizza to boot. Wow, a gastronomic feast truly awaited!

So, what’s the verdict?

Let’s start with Shroomy first. Shroomy’s their newest creation, so I was quite excited to try this. It’s essentially a mix of four mushrooms accompanied with a mild bleu cheese sauce, topped with caramelized onions and fresh basil. It was delicious. I really liked the shiitake mushroom, and the bleu cheese sauce was just mild enough to complement the flavor, but not necessarily overpower the rest of the dish

Moving over to the Margherita Pizza. This pizza is deceptively simple, and yet so delicious. It’s made up of tomato sauce, basil, mozzarella and parmesan. Doesn’t sound like a lot right? But the thing is, simple dishes done right really do become elevated into a classic. I loved this dish for its simplicity because it allowed me to appreciate the flavor and the quality of its ingredients so much more!

Overall, super happy I got to try this, and you know what – I think it’s worth the Marikina to QC shipping fee! (Trust me, I don’t say that often)
