Bulgogi Meatball DIY Recipe (w/ step-by-step instructions)
June 6, 2021
I have this huge jar of bulgogi sauce and no idea how to use it all up, so I’ve pretty much been scrounging the internet for bulgogi recipes aside from the typical beef/chicken/pork bulgogi. Hit upon one here with this Bulgogi Meatball recipe, which is really super straightforward.
My personal favorite is this recipe though: Beef Bulgogi Kimchi Lettuce Cups
DELECTABLE DISH FOR THE DAY: BULGOGI MEATBALL
DIFFICULTY: Easy
SERVING SIZE: Good for 5 people
COOKING TIME: 30 minutes
INGREDIENTS FOR BULGOGI MEATBALL
- 3/4 cup bulgogi sauce
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1/3 cup bread crumbs
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground pork
STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS TO MAKE BULGOGI MEATBALLS
- Add the beaten egg, 1/3 cup bread crumbs, 2 lbs worth of ground meats (half/half beef, pork), and the 3/4 cup bulgogi sauce into a large bowl. Mix to combine all the ingredients. Be careful not to overmix.
- Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours (I suspect you can refrigerate a bit longer to really let the flavors soak in)
- Pre-heat the oven to 220 deg C
- Roll the meat mixture into 1.5 inch meatballs, and place into a glass baking dish. I like using a glass baking dish because it collects all the sauces that will seep out while cooking
- Bake for ~20 minutes, or until the meatballs are golden brown and cooked through. At the 10 minute mark, rotate the meatballs so they’re evenly cooked on all sides
- Bon Appetit!
