Leanns Teahouse Woosamgyeop, Meltique, Jajangmyeon Honest Review

Craving for KBBQ? My go-to restaurant to order from is Leanns Teahouse. While they don’t have the widest range of meats, their quality is really good and I haven’t experienced any hiccups while ordering from them.

To be fair, their customer service can be improved. It takes them awhile (or never) to respond to customer queries, but ordering from their website is pretty straightforward, so minimal interaction is needed anyway.

My personal orders are always as follows:

Jajamngyeon

  • Price: PHP 230
  • Servings: Good for 1-2, depending on how hungry you are
  • What it is: Black Bean noodles with pork and vegetables

This is really good! Very filling. I love the thick noodles, but more importantly, I love the black bean sauce. Highly recommend.

Meltique

I like these because they’re so tender and flavorful. Just season with salt and pepper, and you’re good to go! You can eat it for lunch/dinner, or even just for snacking.

Woosamgyeop

  • Price: PHP 600 for 1kg
  • Servings: Good for 5 people, to share
  • What it is: Frozen beef shortplate

I’m actually ambivalent about this one. It’s alright. I let it soak in bulgogi sauce so that it’s flavorful, but I find the cuts rather fatty. I have tried the samgyeopsal though, and that one’s even fattier. In comparison, this is good.

And that’s my rundown! Enjoy your KBBQ dinner. Pro tip: Buy your lettuce from the wet market (we buy ours from Balintawak), you’ll save a ton of money that way.
