UK cross-country tour (9-day itinerary) – What to see and do in Shoreditch

For my final afternoon in London, I decided to just chill and stroll around the Shoreditch area (which I had never been to before!). Well well well, what a treasure trove! Apparently, there are lots of things to see and do in Shoreditch – e.g.,

Columbia Road Flower Market

If you’re in search of a pick-me-up, or perhaps you feel like brightening up your home with some beautiful flowers, then the Columbia Road Flower Market is perfect for you!! Imagine, these gigantic sunflowers were being sold at GBP 1 each – what a steal!

Tip: For best prices, drop by during the closing hours – that’s when vendors are more willing to provide a deal, so they can close a sale!

Strawberry Tour Street Art and Graffiti Tour

Wow, I was pleasantly surprised by this tour. I wasn’t expecting much and was wondering how we could possibly talk about street art for 2 whole hours… But when our amazing guide, Olivia, finally halted to a stop – I was pleasantly surprised! I was enjoying so much, I hadn’t even noticed how much time had passed. If you’ve got the time – would 100% recommend you to check out this tour. You’ll come out immeasurably enriched afterwards

Sunday markets

There are TONS of markets in Shoreditch on Sundays – as this area has slowly become quite gentrified. You’ve got the Vintage Market, the Backyard Market, the Tea Room Market, the Old Spitalfields Market – the list goes on and on. My recommendation? Just walk around – pop into the stores, and browse. You never know what you’ll end up seeing 😉

EAT A LOT!!!

Below are some of my food recommendations:

Beigel Shop

This place is famous for their rainbow bagel – there was a LONG queue for this, so it had better be good… But the real star for me were the salt beef bagel, and salmon & cream cheese bagel. Heavenly! Not only that, but it’s CHEAP!

Beigel Bake

This place is famous for their savory bagels. Didn’t get to try – but sharing the recommendation to you guys!

Crosstown donut

Seen in photo: Lemon and thyme made from beetroot dough and vanilla crumble (SO YUMMY – not too sweet, and incredibly airy! We’ve got a winner guys – plus there’s a whole host of other exotic flavors to choose from too!) Next time, I think I’ll try the Vegan Orange Blossom (pistachios, pomegranate, elderflower glaze)

Dumdum Donutterie

Honestly, this one’s more for the photo op. Seen in photo is the galaxy glaze with white chocolate filling

maGna

For more out of this world donuts – check out Magna!!

Dark Sugar Chocolate

Well, this guys won’t win any naming contest awards – but the sheer variety of chocolate flavors (and their hot choco) = guaranteed to make any chocolate lover happy
