Roasted Broccoli (Step-by-Step for Dummies 101)

Running short of time for prep, but still want to provide a healthy snack / side dish for your family? I super recommend this roasted broccoli dish! This takes 30 minutes max – but the end result is glorious (and perfect for snacking – but without the guilt!)

SERVING SIZE: Good for 5 people (as a side dish)
PREPARATION TIME: 30 minutes (5 minutes prep, 25 minutes baking time)
INGREDIENTS FOR ROASTED BROCOLLI
- 1 kg broccoli
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
PROCEDURE FOR ROASTED BROCCOLI
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 200 degree Celsius. This takes time so just switch it on before you do anything else
Step 2: Break the broccoli apart, then wash through running water
Step 3: In a large bowl, place the washed broccolis, 2 tbsp olive oil, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp ground pepper. Coating the vegetable in olive oil intensifies the heat during the roasting process and fries the exterior of the broccoli which produces a delightful char. The salt and pepper then brings out the flavor even more.
Step 4: Toss the broccoli to mix everything well
Step 5: Place the broccoli evenly onto the baking pan, then place in the oven for 25 minutes. You can opt to pull out earlier if you don’t want the broccoli too charred
Step 6: And that’s it! So easy right? And yet, so delicious!
