Mad Eats Honest Review of Yang Gang Chicken, Chow Time Noodles, and Fried Nice Fried Rice

Mygosh, my friend is CRAZY good at finding these promos. I usually don’t end up availing of the promos as I typically have the Sunday menu prepared waaay in advance. I have since learned though, so now I’m trying to be more flexible because really, some of these promos are SUPER great value for money.

Anyway, so Mad Eats had this Buy 1 Take 1 promo, where you can get:

  • Buy 1 Get 1 Silog Bowl from Fried Nice – Promo Code FRIEDNICE99
  • Buy 1 Get 1 Yang Gang Chicken + Rice – Promo Code YANGGANG99
  • Buy 1 Get 1 Noodles – Promo Code CHOWTIME99

BUT, the catch is you can only use 1 promo code at a time. So I was thinking, oh man, that’s so lame. I’m feeding a family of 5 here! Then my friend taught me this super grepa trick LOL. Just order 3x…. You’ll book just one rider anyway, and he can then pick up all 3 orders. And since the website is super easy to use, easy to order, easy to pay – I decided, ok game!

So, for this Sunday, I ordered:

  • From Fried Nice: Crispy Sisig Fried Nice, Flakey Adobo Fried Nice
  • From Chow Time: Garlic Sesame Street Noodles, Soy Street Noodles
  • From Yang Gang:
    • Honey Butter Chicken + Sesame Garlic Rice + OG Crack
    • OG Chicken + Chikin Sin Kimchi Fried Rice + Gochujang Crack

Customer Service

Before we discuss the food, let’s discuss customer service. First of all, the website is incredibly easy to use. It’s easy to navigate, the promo code is easy to find, it’s intuitive to order with, and they have multiple payment options (I chose to pay using credit card).

On the day itself, they texted me at 11AM on the dot to inform me my order was now ready for pick up. I had some difficulty booking a rider because of the rain, and their customer service person was super nice and just kept following up to ask whether or not I had gotten a rider (OK, some people may find this irritating, but I appreciate that they’re making sure I’m aware that no rider has picked up my order yet)

Finally – the food arrived. Glorious food! Let’s discuss then

Recommended Food

Given I ordered a ton of food, I’m only going to discuss the ones I would reorder.

From Yang Gang, I liked the following:

  • Honey Butter Chicken: This is SO tasty. Even without the crack sauce, this was beautifully fried (loved the skin), flavored well (honey butter ftw!). Would definitely reorder this. Although take note, one order only has 4 chicken pieces. If this wasn’t buy 1 take 1, I would definitely feel ripped off LOL
  • OG Crack or Gochujang Crack: I actually liked OG Crack more, essentially just a cheese dip that’s inoffensive and pairs well with the chicken. But if you like a mild kick, then the Gochujang Crack is for you!
  • Rice: Neither rice was memorable. Just go with whatever

From Chow Time, I really liked the Garlic Sesame Street Noodles. Mygosh, this was so tasty and the noodles were super springy. Love it.

I didn’t like both of the Fried Nice dishes.

Overall, pretty glad there was a promo as I otherwise would never have tried Mad Eats. It’s pretty far – hello Makati pick up! But yeah, I really liked the Honey Butter Chicken and Garlic Sesame Street Noodles. So great, now I know.
