Aguirre Fried Chicken Honest Review
September 19, 2021
I’m a QC girl and I always say I would NEVER consider anything beyond Mandaluyong. That statement’s been tested a couple of times when I’ve been tempted by something in Makati, but that’s pretty much the limit of where I’m willing to buy from geography-wise. So when my friend told me about Aguirre Fried Chicken, I checked their page, saw they were located in BF Homes Paranaque, and thought “Oh well, guess I’ll never get to try their chicken.”
But then! My friend kept raving about it (he is a pretty serious foodie too, with a much more refined palette compared to mine – I 110% trust his opinions LOL), I started seeing OTHER people raving about it (respected food influencers, bloggers), and my curiosity was completely piqued.
So today, I finally bit the bullet. Thankfully, my friend was willing to split the shipping fee cost with me (hehehe, so nice, thank you!). And I am happy to say – Aguirre Fried Chicken meets all expectations – except for the serving size LOL.
Here it is – the much awaited chicken review omnomnom.
Okay, first off – what makes a good fried chicken? I have a couple of non-negotiables here:
- Skin that you can crunch down on, and a burst of flavor ensues
- Very flavorful meat – that you can eat on its own, without any other sauce accompaniments
Well, let me just say, Aguirre Fried Chicken meets all of this and more!
This chicken was brined for 20 hours – and you can really really see the effect. The chicken is moist – very juicy; and there’s a ton of flavor both in the breading and the meat itself.
Beyond that, this chef took inspiration from all the best chicken in the world – the spices is reminiscent of KFC chicken (it really does LOL. I like KFC chicken so this is a huge plus in my book) while the batter is inspired by Southern style fried chicken which results in that crunch I really really like.
Aside from the chicken, it also came with this really yummy white pickles – so good. It also came with bread rolls which were nice and buttery, and this really rich garlic spread. Very good too.
Overall – I really recommend Aguirre Fried Chicken. Pro tip? Buy 2 whole chicken if you’re feeding a family of 5. My one chicken order was SUPER bitin.
