Hill Station Baguio Honest Review

Hill Station is considered a fine dining restaurant by Baguio standards. The interior of the restaurant is very posh. I like the wooden beams, the high ceiling, the enlarged windows, and I really like the fairy lights decor they’ve put up for Christmas as well.

Hill Station does accept reservations, which is very nice, and I highly recommend you reserve beforehand so you don’t have to wait.

To start, we had complimentary bread with this very tasty Egyptian dip – it’s a mix of spices that’s very distinct and interesting in flavor.

Then, we got the Tomato & Pumpkin Soup (₱150) as well as the French Onion Soup (₱210). Both hearty soups. I quite liked them, although the Tomato & Pumpkin Soup has a sour-ish tinge to it because of the tomato addition.

For the salad, we got the Tuna Tataki and Quinoa Salad (₱385). This was just alright. I quite liked the tuna tataki, the greens were again very fresh, but I think the wasabi dressing taste didn’t come through as strongly.

For the mains, we got the Moroccan Spiced Baby Back Ribs (₱595). I had read reviews that this was fall-off-the-bone and super flavorful. Hmmm, I don’t get the hype. This was so-so.

Next, we had the Moroccan Lamb Tagine (₱595) with pita bread. Delicious! The lamb was sooo tender and sooo good. Highly recommend this one.

Lastly, we got the Smoked Paprika Roasted Salmon (₱595). This was okay too. Good, but not particularly memorable.

For dessert, we ordered Sagrada Coffee, which my dad quite liked.

As for cakes, I got the Canonigo with vanilla sauce (₱120). It’s essentially beazo de mercedes’ all egg white version. Very light and fluffy. It’s ayt.

Overall – nice place to go if you want to dress up a bit and bask in nice ambiance. Food is alright, good but not particularly great. Would I go all the way to Baguio for this? Nope. Would I eat here again if I were in Baguio? Sure, why not.
