Yummy Diet PH 1200 Calories Diet Review

Needed to diet for my tinghun, but clearly there is a lack of self discipline over here 🙈 Also lesson learned, don’t hold events right after Christmas…. Diets just don’t work then 😅

Super grateful for thoughtful friends, who sponsored my low calorie diet meals for 1 week! 1200 calories 😭 Will I make it?

All I can say is, if this is really how much I should be eating when dieting, then clearly I haven’t dieted in my life 🤣

So anyway, here I am chronicling my food journey

 

Day 1

Mango-coconut Chia bowl
Yummy! I can get used to this type of breakfast. It’s sweet of sorts, but not cloying. Portion is just right. And I like the texture coz I like munching on something, so the Chia seeds popping in my mouth is very satisfying 🤣

Fish tausi with tofu
Looks very unappetizing lol. The green leafy vegetable is the same every single day. It’s ayt. Walang lasa but crunchy – do make sure you don’t heat it in the microwave.

The fish tausi itself is pretty good. Tastes like fish tausi. And the sauce is yum! The tofu kinda dry though
The red rice is super blah. Very dry. Healthy rice. Not my type. Alas, this is the rice for every single meal

Matcha Flan
Interesting flavor actually. Jello like texture. My sister found it too bitter (I had her try a bit), but I liked it!

And that concludes Day 1!

 

Day 2

Chicken sambal with stir fry veggies
Yumyum!! Again the red rice is very blah and dry. Is it because I microwave it kaya? But the sambal and the egg and the carrots =great combo! Woo veggie that isn’t green at last

Salt and Pepper Pork
Alas back to green leafy vegetables, and the dry rice. The pork was nicely seasoned though. It looks dry but it wasn’t. The sauce is like… Chili sweet and sour sauce? 🤣

Crinkles
Too sweet! I ended up sharing with my sister (wahahaha less calories for me!)

 

Day 3

Chinese Barbecue Chicken Mantou
The mantou was still delicious. Kinda crispy exterior still, and fluffy interior. I liked the chicken also, although not sure why you’d pair mantou with chicken barbecue. The sauce was ayt, I primarily used it for the salads lol. Crunchy veggies – made me feel like a rabbit.

Braised beef
Again dry red rice and leafy veggies, but the beef was ok tender, chewable, and the sauce was a tad salty but still yummy! This sauce is really good actually. Sinimot ko siya

Almond Jelly
Normal. Tastes like what you’d have in a Chinese resto.

 

Day 4

Asian breakfast set
This contained rice (the dreaded red rice lol), scrambled egg (yum!) and mixed veggies (chili, carrots, mushroom). I would’ve preferred just carrots and mushroom but this was ayt!

Peking style chicken
Sarap! The grilled chicken was tender and juicy, and the hoisin sauce complemented it really well. Honestly, I’m a sauce girl. So if your sauce is good, I’m super happy! The veggies were good too. I really like my carrots hehe

Coco-Chia Tapioca Pudding
Hmm sakto lang. I preferred the Mango-coconut Chia I had on Day 1

 

Day 5

Beef Bibimbap, Sunny Side-up, Vegetable Stir-Fry
Was sooo excited when I saw this the night before. But, was disappointed. This was yummy still actually, beef was very flavorful and tender. But this ain’t Bibimbap friends! Where’s the gochujang! Also these vegetables are sliced too thickly, cannot mix with sauce to gain the desired Bibimbap consistency. Sigh, now I crave for Korean

Baked Pork Meatballs, Garlic Vegetables
Ohhh not red rice anymore, what happened? This rice was slightly less dry. Nice that the veggie now has garlic. Unfortunately, the pork meatball super walang lasa. The first viand na I was legit disappinred with the taste

Butter cookie?
Actually this is supposed to be Pandan Jelly, so I’m not sure why I got a cookie…. But the cookie was yummy so no complaints. Sad though, would’ve wanted to try the Pandan Jelly too 🤣

 

Overall assessment

Yummy Diet food is pretty good! Out of 10 Meals, I only really found 1 blah (the pork meatball today). The sauces used kind of just repeat (except the hoisin, which was my fave. Sad). The red rice super blah – not repeating that. Wish there was slightly more variety to the veggies, but I guess iyan talaga mga veggies.

I found it helpful though because it really minimized temptation to overeat because literally, that’s it. Also wow, I never realized how little 1200 calories actually is o.o Gonna be more mindful of my serving sizes next time for sure (I hope)

Weight result: Can’t decide if legit or what, but I seem to have lost 3kg vs Sunday night, right before I started this Yummy Diet meals. Totoo ba? 🤔 Well I did skip dinner for 5 days too. But, I also cheated and ate 1/2 slice of black forest cake, 1 jollibee spaghetti hehe, 1 cheese roll, and 1/2 slice banana bread <- see how guilty I felt? I listed all my extra eating 🤣

I am writing this 2 weeks later, and I am happy to say that the 3kg I lost have stayed lost. WOOHOO. Lots of people said I looked thin at my tinghun, so now I feel extra encouraged to diet for my wedding (which is months away, so I can start dieting…. closer to the date HEHEHEHE)
