Ba Na Hills Resort: Best Route to Take to Maximize Time Here
April 19, 2023
Ba Na Hills was simply beautiful – like a wonderland playground appearing beyond the mist (which is pretty literal actually), because the cable car to get there is soooo long and goes pretty high up that midway through, all you see is mist and a cool breeze. Until suddenly, poof! You’re here!
We purchased tickets via Klook (including the lunch buffet), but rented a car via the hotel. The issue with renting a car via the hotel though is the car will only wait for you for five hours – which is a short amount of time given the activities available at Ba Na Hills. Although to be honest, there’s not much to do, although a lot to see (whether or not they’re worth it, I’ll mention below), so five hours could be more than enough actually!
In terms of the route, I would recommend you follow this:
Stop #1: The Golden Bridge
This is the SUPER iconic bridge you see if you google Da Nang and is really a sight to behold. While you might be tempted to leave this for last, as all the tour groups go here in the morning so you’re jostling with the crowd, do NOT. In the afternoon, this bridge will be covered in mist so there won’t be much to see anymore.
Stop #2: Le Jardin D’Amour Gardens
Honestly, nothing too impressive, but it’s a short walk from the Golden Bridge so you might as well check it out before cabling to the next station
Stop #3: Bar Debay – Wine Cellar
Even less impressive, skip this for sure.
Stop #4: Alpine Coaster
Head to the next station to get to the Alpine Coaster. It’s actually a SUPER chill ride, because you can manage your own speed, since your hand controls the brakes. I’d advise you wait a bit for the car ahead of you to go far, before you speed away. This ensures your ride won’t be interrupted in case the car ahead of you is a slowpoke.
Now, if you find the line is super long (aka advised to be ~45mins or more waiting line), just buy yourself a WOW Pass to skip the line. It’s not too pricey. Alternatively, leave the line and come back ~1 hour later. The lines may have lessened by then.
Stop #5: Lunch at Arapang
The buffet selection was EXTENSIVE, to say the least. Do avoid the lunch crowds by either eating early or late. We ate at 1:30PM and were blessed with barely any people. Having said that, the buffet closes at 3PM so don’t come here too late either.
Stop #6: Spiritual Shrine
If you are so inclined, you can climb your way up the spiritual path to check out the pagodas/temples, or simply get up to the peak so you can see Ba Na Hills in all its full-blown glory
