Canto Baguio Restaurant Honest Review

Love the vibe here! Apparently Canto only recently relocated to this location, and I must say it is a definite upgrade. Look at the beautiful interiors! I really love the eclectic colors and feels of the upper room. Plus, we were blessed by the disarming sounds of the sax tonight

Food-wise, nothing fancy but good naman! There was a predilection for mashed potatoes here haha 😂 It seems every dish came with mashed potatoes. I have also noticed that we seem to get A LOT of salad in Baguio. It must be because they have a lot of fresh produce.

What we ordered:
❤️ Croquettes: Cream cheese and chives filling. Not bad, not the best, but not bad

❤️ Ceviche: Citrus marinated blue marlin, with watermelon and cucumber? Very pretty. Tasty too!

❤️ Pumpkin Soup: Good

❤️ Lomo Ribs: Oven baked, grilled bbq ribs. Fall-off-its-bone tender! Kulang lang sa sauce. This is actually what Canto is known for. Again, I wouldn’t specifically go to Canto just for this, but it’s decent

🤔 Chicken Pastel: more potatoes than chicken. But flavor was good. If I wasn’t already stuffed full of potatoes, I might appreciate this more.

❤️ Pan Seared Salmon: Salmon was a tad dry, but well-seasoned. The mashed potatoes here was EXCELLENT

❤️ Turon with Ice Cream: Ang dami! 12 pcs 😅 Good, liked the way it was fried. I didn’t like the ice cream though. It wasn’t creamy

❤️ Chocolo: Surprised by this yummy almond flour chocolate cake

❤️ Hot Chocolate with mallows: Very thick, but alas too sweet, probably because of the three marshmallows that it came with!

Overall nice resto. Hard to park though so best to come early! Also, expect to climb up some flight of stairs, which was rather tough since we’re travelling with my grandma. Still it was a lot easier compared to 113 Wagner Cafe which had SO MANY STAIRS leading down to the main dining hall.
