Wedding Lights & Sounds + Quintet Band Reviews

Artuz 101

Link: https://www.facebook.com/teamartuz101

Peso Power: Starts from Php 8,000 (basic ceremony) and Php 20,000 (basic reception), then you just keep adding from there… Expect to spend significantly more with all the bells and whistles!

To be honest, we didn’t really have a choice with our L&S supplier, as Artuz 101 was the only accredited supplier of Arocarria. And if we went with a different supplier, the corkage fee was quite expensive. So Artuz 101 it was. Tbh, Artuz was very easy to work with. They ARE more expensive than most lights and sounds suppliers (actually I think they’re the most expensive in Tagaytay), but they delivered. Leading up to the wedding, they were easy to contact, responded quickly, and was always prompt in giving revised quotations when we wanted to add something. Helpful as we could quickly assess if it was still within budget.

During the wedding, lights were great – ambient and warm for our reception. Sound was clear and ample for our venue – both the ceremony (garden) and the reception (ballroom). LED wall was also very clear and could show our HD wedding photo SDE and prenup slideshow without any issue.

Overall, would recommend for a stress-free lights and sounds supplier experience.

The Masterpiece Music Ensemble

Peso Power: Php 30,000 (quintet with male & female singers)

Inclusions: Pianist, Violinist, Electric drums, Acoustic Guitarist, Female singer (Kim), Male singer (Ghor)

Masterpiece came highly recommended by our coordinator. We had never heard of them before, but booked based on the strength of the coordinator referral. Leading up to the wedding, communication was very smooth. Deanna (the owner) was hands-on, quick to reply, easy to call. We had a Messenger group with her, where we sent our music requests (a month before the wedding), and they were easily able to accommodate the new songs (including a mashup of Christian songs that I wanted for my bridal march!)

On-the-day, to be honest, I didn’t hear anything – too focused on GETTING MARRIED. But, my husband says they performed well. They were very flexible – able to accommodate timeline changes that occurred during the ceremony, to ensure there was no dead air. I think this is really the value of getting a live band vs having piped-in music, as they’re able to asses in real-time your music needs.

As for the reception, we honestly wanted very chill cocktail music since we wanted our guests to spend time chitchatting, which would’ve been difficult if the music was too loud. They were ok here.

But where they shone was really the afterparty. Kim & Ghor were AMAZING and sobrang BIRIT talaga. We let them sing whatever they wanted in the afterparty, and the crowd just took them in. We had people dancing to the music, or were at least very entertained by it. We ended up extending them by a whole set because they were just so good, and everyone enjoyed. We felt they brought so much passion & energy to the afterparty. On this basis alone, I would highly recommend them

Pro tip: If you add an electric drum to your quintet, they throw in one afterparty set for free.
