San Jose Fishball and Manong’s Fishball Sauce Honest Review

Ever since COVID started, I haven’t had the chance to have street food. In part because I haven’t been going out, but also because it’s scary! You don’t know how hygienic the seller is…

So I ended up buying my own fishball and fishball sauce to cook at home. I chose San Jose Fishball because (1) the distributor is near my house, and (2) supposedly, the oil doesn’t stick to the fishball so it’s not very oily

They had two sauces to choose from – Tentay Sweet Sauce or Spicy Sweet, or Manong’s Fishball Sauce. Manong’s sauce is spicier, so I went with that one for the extra kick. The 350mL sauce is just right if you’re cooking 1 kg worth of fishball.

Overall, it did seem less oily. I liked the fact that there was no “fishy” after taste. The fishball was big and airy, and perfectly paired with Manong’s Spicy Fishball sauce <3
