Pho 24 Beef Pho and Fresh Spring Roll Honest Review

When I was working in Vietnam, I pretty much had pho every single day. In part because I couldn’t read any of their menus and pho was really the easiest thing to say, but also because it was so damn delicious. It tastes sooo healthy and yet it’s still so flavorful. Unbelievable.

Well back in the Philippines, there aren’t as many good pho places around. And with ECQ, I was pretty much stuck at home. I’m not very fond of purchasing noodles for takeaway because they end up cold by the time they arrive and it just isn’t very appetizing anymore.

I first saw Pho 24 because they released a Pho Home Meal Kit. So I was like, hmm. Why not? If I’m not willing to order takeaway, I guess I can order the meal kit and cook it myself. But when I inquired, they told me they didn’t have delivery in my area yet – so scrap that idea. I forgot about it after awhile.

Until one day, Pho 24 popped up again in my news feed. Lo and behold, they were holding a promotion! Get 4 Bowls for the Price of 3 – good deal right? Not just that, but they threw in free shipping as well!

Well, that was just too good to pass up. I messaged them again to inquire if they now included my area and their delivery, and thank goodness they said yes! Hallelujah :p

What did I end up ordering?

I have zero imagination. So I just ordered the 3 types of Beef Pho (beef fillet, beef brisket, beef balls), and the Chicken Pho. Plus, I also ordered fresh spring rolls.

What’s the verdict?

Well, first of all – let me just say their packaging is really meticulous. I normally hate ordering soups or any liquids for takeaway because they invariably spill, get cold (or warm) by the time they arrive at my house.

But their packaging is incredibly thick and was double layered. There were zero spills, and guess what, the soup arrived still steaming hot.

Second, the noodles and the soup and the herbs were all kept separated. This solved my soggy noodles issue which is just fantastic. Clearly, this restaurant has thought through all the pet peeves normally faced by customers like me.

Third, let’s discuss the actual food itself. The soup was flavored just right, when drank steaming hot, it’s really good. I liked the noodles. For the beef, I preferred the beef balls. The chicken was tender but flavorless, which is as expected, I suppose.

The spring roll was ok. To be fair, it was very malaman, but also… very small. I don’t recommend.

Overall, pretty happy with this purchase, but now I know – do NOT order the spring rolls. Focus on the pho which is what they’re famous for, and this is one restaurant I will have zero qualms buying takeaway from.
