Longganisa Burger DIY Recipe (Step-by-Step with instructions)
April 1, 2021
I had purchased longga patties from Chubby Mommy recently, and was thinking of creative ways to cook them.
And I thought, aha, why don’t I make a longganisa burger? It could be a brunch burger of sorts. Well, I was pretty happy with the outcome, although I think I might use Chori Burger next time, because I like the consistency better and I think the sweetness will still come across.
DELECTABLE DISH FOR THE DAY: LONGGANISA BURGER
DIFFICULTY: Easy
SERVING SIZE: Good for 5 people
COOKING TIME: 30 minutes
INGREDIENTS FOR THE LONGGANISA BURGER
- 10 longganisa patties
- 10 Burger Buns
- 3 tomatoes
- Cucumber slaw (2 medium-sized cucumber, 3 tbsp mayonnaise, salt and pepper)
- 10 eggs
STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS TO COOK LONGGANISA BURGER
STEP 1: Make the cucumber slaw
- Using a peeler, peel 2 medium-sized cucumber
- Mix in 3 tbsp of mayonnaise, with a pinch of salt and sugar. Mix well. Taste test, and add more salt or sugar if needed
- Let it chill in the refrigerator
STEP 2: Cook the longga patties
- Squirt oil on a non-stick pan (don’t put too much because the longga patty will also have juices oozing out when you cook it). Place the pan over low heat
- Cook the longga patty then cover it with a lid so that heat will distribute evenly. After ~1 minute, flip the patty over to cook the other side
- Once you see caramelization, you’re done
STEP 3: Prep the other ingredients
- Toast the burger buns – I like them nice and toasted
- Slice up the tomatoes
- Fry up the eggs! Make sure the egg yolk isn’t runny. Otherwise, it can get quite messy
STEP 4: Time to assemble
- Place the bun at the bottom, followed by the egg (because this was the biggest), then the longga patty, followed by the tomatoes, the cucumber slaw, and finally the bun on top
STEP 5: Bon Appetit!
This was surprisingly good! 10/10 would recreate, perhaps with chori burger next time!
