Rocha’s Puto and Kutsinta (Marikina) Honest Review

I live in Quezon City, and rarely venture farther from QC. As such, the food I’m accustomed to or know are the ones famous in this area. Interestingly, I was really only able to broaden my food adventures during ECQ – how ironic right? With the lockdown, I guess restaurants and stores had to look for new distributors because that was the only way they could grow. Suddenly, it’s incredibly easy to get access to Baguio goodies, Tagaytay buko pie, etc – without leaving the comforts of home!

Well, Rocha’s Puto and Kutsinta was one such occasion. I had never heard of it before this year, but saw it posted on Facebook. The seller lives literally 10 minutes away (Grace Park!!), and she kept saying these were super famous in Marikina.

Okay, why not?

For 180 pesos, you get 50 pieces of Rocha’s puto and kutsinta. I opted to get the mixed box to get to try them all, but you can choose one to have it all either puto, kutsinta, or assorted.

Of the two, I much prefer the puto! It’s soo good. Sweet without being cloying. Soft, chewy, withmelted cheese on top. It literally melts in your mouth. Really delicious.

The kutsinta is good too. But if I had to buy this again, I’d probably just buy 50 pcs of puto instead.

Note – they don’t recommend leaving this out for long.

  • Shelf life around 3-5 days in the fridge, so keep it refrigerated if you won’t consume immediately
  • If left at room temperature, puto will last up to 1 day only

Honestly, it’s better if you consume it immediately because the tastes does change a bit after awhile. They say they make this upon delivery, which is plausible since you need to pre-order it.

Anyway, great find!! I now know where to get my merienda fix 😉

Oh, I also bought 16pcs sylvanas from the same supplier. Essentially buttercream sandwiched sandwiches – it’s decent. Cost me PHP 250 for 16 pcs.
