Tokyo 7-day DIY itinerary: Tokyo day trip to Kawagoe

I wasn’t sure what was at Kawagoe but my sister managed to convince me to check it out – so off we went! Apparently, Kawagoe is famous because it has retained the culture of Edo (including the last few Edo castles). In fact, it’s popularly known as Little Edo (although so many places in Japan are called Little Edo…).

Day 1

Traveling from Tokyo to Kawagoe

Start your journey from the Tobu Tourist Information Center Asakusa. At the center, you may opt to purchase:

  • Kawagoe Discount Pass: JPY 700 / person
  • Kawagoe Premium Pass: JPY 950 / person – includes the bus

If you go with the discount pass, you simply have to walk an additional 30 mins from the train station to the Main Street (totally fine, there are loads of shops here so it’s a pleasant walk!)

After purchasing the pass, look for your train platform. Instead of passing through the turnstiles (which you can’t, since you don’t have the traditional ticket), you’ll have to pass through the “office” beside it – simply show your pass, and they’ll let you through

Walk along Crea Mall

As promised, once you get down at Kawagoe Station, you can make your leisurely way to the town center by passing through Crea Mall – which has all sorts of shops for you to check out!

Lunch at Ogakiku

By the time we got to Ogakiku (famous for their eel sets), it was already 11:00AM. Good thing too, since this restaurant opens at 11:00AM exactly (even then, there was already a queue starting to form!). Note: you need to grab a number then sign your name beside that number for you to be considered as part of the queue. We kind of loitered around for a bit and curiously watched the locals do this…. until we realized – oh no! That means we were now BEHIND the queue. Damn it

Would suggest you order the eel set (LARGE) while here – it’s delicious, and so pillowy-smooth

Walk along Kurazukiri

Once you’ve filled up your tummies with savory food – it’s time to walk along Kurazukiri to… EAT SOME MORE! Some of my local food recommendations would be:

  • Fugashi (so yummy! It tastes like cotton candy bread, with burnt sugar covering) – you can buy these at the Penny Candy Lane
  • Imokoi (kind of like mochi – the filling can be either red bean, sweet potato or purple yam)
  • Egg Baum (interesting, with sweet potato cream filling, BUT the cream is so limited!)
  • Sweet potato fries (ok, this isn’t anything special – but it was still yummy!)
Kawagoe eats
Fugashi!! It doesn’t look like much but it’s super yummy!

Aside from that, don’t forget to go shopping. My sister’s favorite purchase were these chopsticks – where you can have your name engraved for free (each chopstick costs ~JPY 800-1000). You simply have to wait ~20 mins, then voila! Engraved chopsticks now ready for personal use or gifting

Keep your eyes peeled as well for Toki No Kane (the bell tower of Kawagoe!)

My dad’s personal fave? This Edo-style Starbucks…

Hikawa Shrine and Bridge

Afterwards, make your way to Hikawa Shrine – where you can take nice photos along the arches (Tunnel of Ema).

From here, it’ll lead you straight to the Hikawa-bashi Bridge – which is super pretty (especially during cherry blossom season) as the cherry blossom trees line the entire bridge length). I heard it’s even more beautiful during the tail end of the season as the cherry blossom falls off the trees and completely fill the river. It certainly sounds magical!

Kita-in Temple

At Kita-in Temple, you’ll be able to see the last buildings of the original Edo Castle. Unfortunately, at this point, we were plain tuckered out from all the walking, so we just chilled around the food and game stall area. It was starting to get pretty festive at this point, as folks were setting up for the night!

And that’s it for Kawagoe – please stay tuned for the rest of my Tokyo adventures!

  • Hey, how’s it going?

I want to pass along some very important news that everyone needs to hear!

In December of 2017, Donald Trump made history by recognizing Jerusalem as the captial of Israel. Why is this big news? Because by this the Jewish people of Israel are now able to press forward in bringing about the Third Temple prophesied in the Bible.

Jewish Rabbis have publicly announced that their Messiah will be revealed in the coming years who will be a leader and spiritual guide to all nations, gathering all religions under the worship of one God. They deny Jesus as their Messiah, and the Bible tells us this Jewish Messiah will be the counterfiet that will bring about a false peace, and ultimatley the great tribulation.

They even printed a coin to raise money for the Temple with Donald Trumps face on the front and with king Cyrus'(who built the second Temple) behind him. On the back of the coin is an image of the third Temple.

More importantly, the power that runs the world wants to put a RFID microchip in our body making us total slaves to them. This chip matches perfectly with the Mark of the Beast in the Bible, more specifically in Revelation 13:16-18:

“He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.”

Referring to the last days, this could only be speaking of a cashless society, which we have yet to see, but are heading towards. Otherwise, we could still buy or sell without the mark amongst others if physical money was still currency. This Mark couldn’t be spiritual because the word references two different physical locations. If it was spiritual it would just say in the forehead. RFID microchip implant technology will be the future of a one world cashless society containing digital currency. It will be implanted in the right-hand or the forehead, and we cannot buy or sell without it! We must grow strong in Jesus. AT ALL COSTS, DO NOT TAKE IT!

“Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name” (Revelation 14:9-11).

People have been saying the end is coming for many years, but we needed two key things. One, the Third Temple, and two, the technology for a cashless society to fulfill the prophecy of the Mark of the Beast.

Visit http://WWW.BIBLEFREEDOM.COM to see proof for these things and much more!

If you haven’t already, it is time to seek God with all your heart. Jesus loves you more than you could imagine. He wants to have a relationship with you and redeem you from your sins. Turn to Him and repent while there is still hope! God bless!
