The Lazy Susan MNL Cha Misua Honest Review

For my birthday, we opted to try The Lazy Susan MNL for my cha misua. It’s been getting rave reviews, and more importantly, it’s really near where I live which is important because we needed to pick this up the night before so it’s still “fresh” early the next morning. It’s really important for us to eat cha misua first thing in the morning on a birthday as this symbolizes long life and prosperity for the birthday celebrant.

I was super excited to try the cha misua, but disaster struck! As soon as I tasted it, it felt like something was off. I wasn’t sure if it was just because they used white misua, whereas brown misua is the norm for cha misua. So I kept eating it. The toppings were delicious anyway, but there was that sour note that lingered, which my parents and grandparents also picked up on.

Thankfully, the story doesn’t end there. My sister ended up messaging The Lazy Susan to check if this was normal, or if we should stop eating it, as well as to give feedback if any. We were told that their misua really spoils easily and that the spoilage might have occurred because we placed it in the refrigerator too early (aka while the misua was still hot). Sigh – super sad!

But The Lazy Susan came back and said they would give us a replacement misua for free, on the date of our choice! Wow, now that’s what I call really great service. Certainly unexpected, but totally welcomed haha!

Second time around, we learned from our mistake… We ate the cha misua as soon as it arrived! And let me tell you, it’s delicious.

The noodles are supposed to be cooked in a special homemade broth which makes it incredibly flavorful all on its own. Then for toppings, this is one jampacked cha misua. They’ve got shrimps, scallops, mushrooms, carrots, fish cake, egg, pork, and pork tripe. Just WOW.

Verdict? Definitely recommend. But perhaps only if you plan to consume it immediately. But kudos to The Lazy Susan for their excellent customer service and their innovative take on the classic cha misua dish
