What to See and Do When in Siargao (4-Day Itinerary): Day 2 (sunrise at Malinao Beach, breakfast at Siargao Corner Cafe, island hopping (Naked, Guyam, Corregidor) with Galatea, dinner at Bayani

Siargao 4-Day Itinerary

Below I’ll be sharing our vetted itinerary, as well as where we stayed, what we did, how much we spent etc!

In this article, we’ll be discussing Day 2!

Sunrise at Malinao Beach

Check what time sunrise is (that day, it was at 5:15am), so we left Kermit at 4:45am to get to the beach to watch the sunrise. Siargao is a sunrise beach actually, so there are definitely a lot of spots where you can find a nice sunrise. Me and my friend decided to go to Malinao Beach because it’s the most accessible. Hay so beautiful, how majestic, and how awe-inspiring to see the wonders wrought by God’s hands.

Breakfast at Siargao Corner Cafe

We chilled a bit while here, then headed back to the hotel for a quick nap (an hour or so). At 7:30am, we popped by Siargao Corner Cafe for breakfast. Super quaint place, very small (also very slow service), but food is superb! I recommend their Waffles with Bacon. Their waffles are great, but the real star is their bacon. Superb!!! I also liked the Vietnamese Egg Coffee, although it’s quite sweet so definitely not for coffee purists. My friend did like their Americano though, which he said was very flavorful

Island Hopping (Naked-Guyam-Corregidor) with Galatea

Afterwards, it was time for island hopping – woo! We booked with Galatea, which was admittedly quite pricey (₱2300 per head, for Naked-Guyam-Corregidor -> we requested for Guyam vs Daku, because Daku kind of looks like Corregidor supposedly). It’s actually cheaper (₱2000 per head) if you just do the 3 standard islands (Naked-Daku-Guyam), but I wanted to go Corregidor because there’s a mini-hike you can do there where you can see the vast expanse of the sea from atop the hill. Beautiful!

So, why is Galatea so pricey? Because the boat is huge!! Party boat feels. Can easily sit 15 people, has a bed in the middle (for a quick nap), bean bags to chill on, and the seats even have cup holders so you can drink and chill. Plus, it comes with a sumptuous boodle lunch (I’ll share the photos later – beautiful AND delicious).

Island 1: Corregidor

Anyway, we left Kermit at 9AM and set off for the port, and boarded Galatea’s boat. First stop: Corregidor.

The hike up the hill takes roughly 30minutes. It can get pretty hot because there’s no shade all throughout. So make sure to wear sunblock and a cap! Also, nice photo shots to be taken top of the hill, so you can also to wear something nice.

Once you reach the top, you’ll see the famous bent coconut tree. We spent a bit of time here to take lots of photos (and tbh, to catch our breath too!). From here, you can opt to walk further out to see the ocean in all its full-blown glory. Really nice cliffs!

After we came down from the hike, we were rewarded with this delicious boodle lunch – the liempo was expertly grilled, the shrimp was SO FRESH, mud crab delicious, lato provided that salty oomph. The eggplant salad was ayt, but the tuna wasn’t cooked well. I heard you can make special requests to Galatea for the seafood you want, but we didn’t try. The fruits were also delicious!! Mango bursting with sweetness, watermelon ripe and juicy, pineapples tart and sweet. Pair all this with Coke, and I was a happy camper right there.

Island 2: Naked

Post-lunch, you can opt to take a dip in the sea, or nap a bit hehehe. From there, the next stop was Naked Island, which is literally a sandstrip. We swam here for a bit, but this was super forgettable for me.

Island 3: Guyam

Last stop was Guyam Island, which had a bit more activity. You can order burger and mango shakes at a shack there (I recommend the Mango Graham Shake – really hits the spot, and the graham serves to blunt some of the mango’s sweetness). We chilled a bit on this island before bidding adieu and making our way back to the mainland.

Once we got back, it was already around 5PM (crazy! Island hopping in Boracay usually ends mid-day, but I guess we left pretty late), so we washed up at Kermit then off we went to dinner at Bayani. Honestly, as I write this, I realize half of what we did in Siargao was really just eat LOL.

Dinner at Bayani

Anyway, Bayani is a fairly new restaurant attached to the Harana resort (a nice beachfront resort). I would recommend the following dishes:

  • For appetizers, I’d recommend the Dynamite Lumpia (yum! But I think my mom’s version is better mwahaha)
  • Their Flavors of Mindanao series were super good!!! Our friend is from CDO, and he said the flavors were spot-on. I liked the Tiyula Itum (super tender beef, in this delicious coconut, lemongrass, and turmeric broth). The pyanggang manok was a revelation too (super tender chicken, simmered in coconut milk). Finally, beef kulma was simply delicious (again tender beef, but this time, paired with peanut saucr which is my fave hehehe)
  • For veggies, get the Tortang Talong! I’m not a veggie fan actually, so this is my friend’s recommendation haha
  • Finally for dessert, I loved the PB&J turon! Super yum!!!

Party at Hang Loose

Post-dinner, party time! We headed over to Hang Loose, which has nice party music, but more importantly, is just walking distance from Kermit, so we could easily walk home after. And that’s a wrap for Day 2!
